Marco Island Center for the Arts
The Marco Island Center for the Arts was created by a small group of artists who wished to establish a culture on the island itself in the 70's.
Helen Tateo was responsible for the first art studio that welcomed other artists to work on their projects and display them in her gallery. Shortly after, the first Annual Fine Art Show was held at the shopping center of the island.
The land that is home to this art center was donated by the Deltona Corporation, and the facility itself is 14,000 square feet. Filled with educational facilities, instructors, three art galleries and administrative offices, this establishment has grown into quite the place to visit. A gift shop is also in the building to make sure you can take a piece of it home with you.
The goal of the center is to be a driving force and advocate for the culture of arts in Collier County. They wish to provide anyone who seeks it, the education and opportunity to pursue their artistic inclinations. The museum is inviting to all ages, and they have adult classrooms as well as children's. Something here for everyone!
