Mound House
For cultural, educational, and recreational experiences, Mound House is a historical treasure to explore! Founded in 1921, Mound House is the oldest building located on Estero Island (now known as Fort Myers Beach).
The museum rests atop an ancient Calusa Indian Shell Mound. Owned by the town on Fort Myers Beach, Mound House was featured as a 2020 Traveler’s Choice Winner. Mound House has so much to offer for fun for the entire family! There are Calusa artifacts, exhibits, gardens, tours, educator resources and field trips available. Another amazing feature of Mound House are the Estero Bay Kayak Eco-Tours.
The facility is also available to rent for a special event. Mound House is always open for visitors to become members and volunteers!
