 Sarasota Jungle Gardens
With over 200 native and exotic animals to see and more than 70 years in business, there's much to enjoy at the Sarasota Jungle Gardens. The Gardens' mission is to educate and inspire the community through interactive experiences with animals and nature.

Some of the many live shows they offer are the Reptile Encounter and the Jungle Bird Show. The Reptile Encounter truly is an exciting way to learn about and interact with reptiles. Additionally, you may even see a bird roller-skating or bicycling in the Jungle Bird Show. In between showtimes you can go see a waterfall, check out the petting zoo or take a picture with alligators and parrots. Including this, there are peaceful Jungle Trails that let you learn about the local plants.

There are so many unique animals that you can have the opportunity to feed. To list a couple of the locals' favorites, there are flamingos and a giant tortoise. The flamingos are free-roaming which provides them a rich quality of life while also allowing guests to experience them as if they were in the wild.

Online you can book a field trip for your school to get a more private tour and bonus hands-on activities. They also provide camp throughout the summer months that allow children to learn first-hand experiences on what it takes to become a zookeeper. Children that are the ages of 6 - 11 are eligible.
