 Venice Museum and Archives
Established in 1975 in a closet inside Venice Library were the photos and archives of old-world Venice, Florida. The small museum was then moved in 1996 to a renovated 1927 building.

The Venice Museum and Archives grew to own over 30 thousand photos, objects, archives, and more that all related in some way to the birth and growth of this bustling city in Sarasota County.

Three main permanent exhibits create the stories of the historic Triangle Inn, Venice's land before time (which included over 365 fossils), and the life of world-renowned orthopedic surgeon Mr. Fred Albee. Many other exhibits come and go through this museum, such as a depiction of how life was on the old Venice Army Air Base or a recap of 100 years of Venice's African American history.

A 90-minute walk-through tour relays how the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers' upper class worked and lived and their role in Venice's story.
